01. Starbucks Welcomes Brian Niccol as New Chairman and CEO

Starbucks has announced a key leadership change, naming Brian Niccol as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, with his role beginning on September 9, 2024. ​​Currently serving as Chairman and CEO of Chipotle, Niccol is well known for having had a revolutionary effect on the brand and for propelling notable development via innovation, digital integration, and a strong focus on corporate culture.
Under Niccol’s leadership at Chipotle, the company saw its revenue nearly double, a sevenfold increase in profits, and an 800% rise in its stock price. His approach to leadership, which places a high priority on staff welfare and customer pleasure, aligns with Starbucks' core values.

As she takes on the responsibilities of lead independent director, Mellody Hobson, who has described Niccol as a "transformative leader" who truly understands the value of a strong organizational culture, voiced her trust in Niccol's ability to lead Starbucks into the future. In response, Niccol expressed his excitement about joining Starbucks and emphasized his dedication to improving the partner and customer experience.
