ISTS Worldwide Inc : a Clear2Pay Company
ISTS is a Retail & Payment technology focused end to end technology services provider. Viren Rana founded ISTS, an exchange hosting startup for messaging, in the early 2000s. While this venture did not ultimately succeed, Rana believes that the experience taught him valuable lessons about entrepreneurship and the importance of embracing failure. The failure of ISTS helped shape Rana's resilient and adaptable mindset as he went on to found his next company, Renovite Technologies.
Renovite Technologies Inc: CEO
Recognizing the need for a modern, flexible payment processing system, Viren Rana founded Renovite Technologies. With a laser-sharp focus on developing a minimal viable product to address this market need, Rana leveraged his extensive experience in the payment processing industry to build Renovite into a successful company. Renovite's innovative approach and Rana's entrepreneurial vision have allowed the company to thrive and revolutionize the payment processing landscape.
Renovite's success led Rana to make the strategic decision to sell the company to industry leader JP Morgan, where he now serves as a Managing Director for Payments. JP Morgan was one of the largest and most prominent payment processing companies, providing Rana and his team with the opportunity to join a market leader. His move has allowed Rana to continue driving innovation and growth in the payment processing space, leveraging the resources and reach of a industry-leading organization.

Article: Viren Rana's Success Track
What does it take to become a successful entrepreneur in the business world? Well, according to Viren Rana, CEO of Renovite Technologies, success rises from failure. With a bachelor's degree in computer science from DY Patil College of Engineering and an MBA from Cal State, Rana's educational background has provided him with a solid foundation to tackle the challenges of the industry. However, more so than his education, he claims that it was the experience that he has gained through his first start-up, ISTS Worldwide Inc., and the challenges he faced throughout its journey that has truly shaped his entrepreneurial mindset. "It is good to fail because failure teaches you more than success," Rana shares.

Renovite Technologies
When Rana realized that payment processors are unable to meet the needs of modern payment methods, he took it upon himself to create a technology that could accommodate the rapidly evolving payment landscape, leading to the establishment of Renovite Technologies. Founded in 2015, this technology is cloud native payment processing technology which works with bank payment processors to create a modern flexible system that helps with newer payment methods.
In a more recent turn of events, Rana decided to sell Renovite to JP Morgan for millions. When asked about his decisions to sell Renovite to JP Morgan, Rana explained that it was a strategic move beneficial to both him and his team by providing salary bumps and bonuses among other benefits. The acquisition by one of the largest merchant acquirers in the country provided financial rewards and the opportunity to scale the technology globally and proved to be beneficial for the company in its multiple locations across the US, Scotland, and India.
Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
As an experienced entrepreneur, Viren Rana has learned that the key to success is not to be afraid of failure. “Don't be afraid to start a business. Don't be afraid to do what your passion is,” he shares. Rana's own journey is a testament to this, as the success he gained from Renovite Technologies was only possible from the difficulties and lessons that came from his first start-up. Alongside this, he shares the importance of having confidence in oneself, self motivation, and a big risk appetite. However, Rana believes that, “If you like what you do you'll always be successful.”
Viren advises aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on finding a niche and being open to market feedback. He emphasizes the importance of managing cash flow effectively and being prepared to make sacrifices. Rana also believes that starting a business with a team can increase the chances of success, as it allows for the sharing of skills and perspectives. Rana shares that anyone of any age can start a business: “As long as you can find a passion or a problem to solve, there is no age at which you can’t start.” For now, Rana hopes to carry on with his father’s dream to support female education in India. And for the future, he is already planning his next venture– another FinTech company focused on modern platforms.
